Who is Umm An-Nu'man?

Umm An-Nu'man is a teacher who also happens to be an inveterate reader. This, unfortunately (?), for her students causes her to constantly try to instill a love of reading in them. She thinks that they enjoy this but if they don't they haven't mentioned that to her (yet). 

People have ask the author, 'Where do you get the ideas for your books?' or 'How did you come up with that?' The truth is she has no idea. The idea for the 'Hasa' trilogy, for example, started out as a picture book! It just got too long and the story took on a life of its own alhamdulillah. 'Counting Days', which many sisters said made them cry, came about when the author was thinking of her mother and the accent that her mother has when she speaks. So let's just say that Umm An-Nu'man has an active imagination masha'Allah.

It has also been asked how come Umm An-Nu'man's books contain no facial features of humans or animals. That explanation is too long to go into here but the answer can be found on sites that have fataawa insha'Allah.  

Also, why does Umm An-Nu'man publish on Lulu? That is easy to answer: she enjoys keeping the copyright on her work and publishing on Lulu also allows her to be a little creative from time to time. It also allows her to work with her own deadlines. Writing is a hobby for the author and self-publishing allows her to enjoy to writing process at her own leisure alhamdulillah. Lastly, some publishers choose not to publish books that do not have facial features in them and this is their right to make this choice but Umm An-Nu'man chooses not to use faces in any of her work.
